Kevin Williams, Board Chair

Kevin Williams is the co-founder and CEO of Tekconnx, a Service Disabled Veteran owned business that specializes in their Patented innovative and emerging SMART cities technology solutions design. He is a seasoned executive, consulting advisor, moderator & keynote speaker with over 35 years of leadership experience in the federal, and commercial and Non-Profit markets.

Kevin is known for driving organizations and leadership teams to high performance in federal and commercial business development, sales and operations with highly successful strategic alliance building, recruiting, channel, alliance strategies, proposal development, closing business and maintaining strategic client relationships customer and employee care.

Kevin is married to his beautiful bride Meschelle of over 38 years, has 3 daughters, 13 grandchildren, and several amazing foster sons...

Ernestine Jenkins, Vice Chair

Ernestine Jenkins is affectionately known as Ernie by all who know her well. She has been active in community affairs in Dale City since 1973. Along with her late husband John Jenkins, former member of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, Ernestine raised three children while serving in the Boy Scouts of America, the Dale City Little League, the Dale City Sports Club, the Dale City Civic Association, the Gar-Field Senior High School Athletic Boosters Club, and several veterans’ organizations including Dale City VFW Post 1503.

Ernestine currently serves (and has for many years) as Chairman of the Dale City 4th of July Parade Committee, Chairman of the Dale City Civic Association Awards Banquet Committee, First Vice Chair and Education Chair of the Bel Air Woman’s Club, life member of American Legion Post 364 Ladies Auxiliary, Vice Chairman and Board of Directors member for Project Mend-A-House, and member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoys working as a youth mentor and is a proponent of literacy campaigns.

Joseph Swetnam, Treasurer

M.A. Sargo, Past Board Chair

M.A. Sargo is Project Mend-A-Houses immediate past chair (2016-2019). M.A. is proud to have been a board member of Project Mend-A-House for 14 years. She has served the organization in many capacities over the years and has most recently been the Interim Executive Director in late 2021.

M.A. has served her community for 38 years as a Special Educator and Vice Principle. Holding various positions from Chief Financial Officer, Office Manager and Medical Records Secretary.

M.A. loves to travel and spend her time on a cruise. She is honored to be a member of such a great organization!

Dan Dykstra, Board Member

Dan is a retired Colonel in the United States Marine Corps. He joined Project Mend-A-House a few years after completing 27 years of active duty as a logistics professional. Before joining the United States Marine Corps, dan earned a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Hope College in Holland Michigan.

Dan has served as a board member for many years and is excited to see where we can go!

Hala Ayala, Board Member

Hala is a proud graduate of Woodbridge Sr. High School in Prince William County, Virginia. Hala has represented the 51st district in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2018 to 2022 and was the Democratic nominee in the 2021 Virginia Lieutenant Gubernatorial election. Hala has 20 years the United States Department of Homeland Security as a Cybersecurity Specialist. She has led the Prince William County chapter of the National Organization for Women while serving on the Virginia Council on Women as an appointee of Governor Terry McAuliffe.

Hala is ecstatic to be a newer member of the board at Project Mend-A-House, especially through serving the low-income communities.

James Noel, Board Member
Governance Committee Chair

James is a board member and Governance Committee Chair of Project Mend-A-House. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Marine Corps where he began practicing law. James is also a retired United States Diplomat.

James is currently an Associate Attorney with Compton and Duling. He focuses in the areas of Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Estate Litigation. James is a proud resident of Prince William County, Virginia and likes to stay engaged in the community!
